(RTTNews) - Haemonetics Corporation (HAE), a provider in medical technology focused on advancing patient outcomes, Tuesday announced that it has finalized the sale of its whole blood assets to GVS S.p.A., a manufacturer of filter solutions for healthcare and life sciences.

This strategic transaction includes Haemonetics' entire portfolio of whole blood collection, processing, and filtration solutions, along with its manufacturing facility in Covina, California, and related equipment and assets at its Tijuana, Mexico location.

The deal, valued at up to $67.8 million, consists of an upfront payment of $45.3 million, and up to $22.5 million in contingent earn-outs over the next four years. Haemonetics plans to allocate the proceeds from this sale toward general corporate purposes and further investments in its growth initiatives.

As part of the transaction, Haemonetics' Blood Center business will continue to provide its full range of apheresis solutions, including devices and disposable kits for automated blood collection.

HAE is currently trading at $78.83 down 0.73 percent or $0.58 on the New York Stock Exchange.
