Futures Suggests Wall Street To Broadly Higher On Christmas Eve
(RTTNews) - Markets are into a celebration mood on the eve of Christmas and that too with an abbreviated session.
In the Asian trading session, gold and oil recorded modest gains.
As of 8.00 am ET, the Dow futures were declining 13.00 points, the S&P 500 futures were gaining 5.75 points and the Nasdaq 100 futures were progressing 38.00 points.
The U.S. major averages finished higher on Monday. The Nasdaq jumped 192.29 points or 1.0 percent to 19,764.89, the S&P 500 climbed 43.22 points or 0.7 percent to 5,974.07 and the S&P 500 rose 66.69 points or 0.2 percent to 42,906.95.
On the economic front, the Money Supply for November will be issued at 1.00 pm ET. In the prior month, the M2 Level was $21,311.2 billion.
Richmond Fed Manufacturing Index for December will be released at 10.00 am ET. The consensus is for minus 8.0, while it was minus 14.0 in November.
Two-year Floating Rate Note or FRN auction will be held at 11.30 am ET.
Five-year Treasury Note auction will be held at 11.30 am ET.
Asian stocks advanced on Tuesday. Chinese and Hong Kong markets rallied. China's Shanghai Composite index jumped 1.26 percent to 3,393.53 while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index climbed 1.08 percent to 20,098.29.
Japanese markets ended lower. The Nikkei average dipped 0.32 percent to 39,036.85 while the broader Topix index settled marginally higher at 2,727.26.
Australian markets eked out modest gains. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 edged up by 0.24 percent to 8,220.90, led by gains in the tech and energy sectors. The broader All Ordinaries index rose 0.22 percent to 8,471.50.
