(RTTNews) - Swiss generic pharmaceutical company Sandoz Group AG (SDZNY) announced on Monday that Peter Stenico has been appointed as the new President Region International and member of the Sandoz Executive Committee. He will be replacing Francisco Ballester, who retires on March 1. Stenico, who joined the Sandoz Group in 2002, was appointed as the Global Platform Head, Biosimilars in January 2023 and has also led the Sandoz global biosimilar strategy. He is also the Country President Sandoz Austria.

He had earlier worked as the Country Head and General Manager for Sandoz in Germany and was also the former President of the German Generics Association (Pro Generika).

Commenting on the development, Richard Saynor, Chief Executive Officer, said, "Like Francisco, Peter can look back on a successful career of many decades at Sandoz and he will bring this extensive experience to his new role and to the Sandoz Executive Committee."

The company said that since 2019, Ballester has been instrumental in driving business growth and securing easy access for patients outside North America and European markets.
